Specialising in energy conservation, the promotion of renewable energies, sources environmental management and protection, AGEDEN (Association pour une Gestion Durable de l'Energie) serves mainly local authorities and end-users in the Isère Department (Rhône Alpes Region in France).

A partner and an initiator of local projects, a centre for exchanging ideas and experiences, AGEDEN also serves as a hub of information for local authorities and those involved in developing the region by organising visits of installations, distributing exhibitions, answering questions about energy and intervening in schools.

A partner for local authorities and end-users Our experts provide projects management, help to organise the technical, political and financial aspects of energy projects, and then advise the owners. By rallying and organising the various skills required, they are able to provide concrete solutions adapted to each case.




Helping to draw up local economic developmentOur training courses provide helpful tools and step-by-step process to assist the owners and the professionals in their performance improvement program. Our agency also provides a veritable interchange of ideas towards helping to draw up local energy and environment policies based on rational and proven solutions.


For almost 15 years, AGEDEN has been helping owners (particularly local public authorities and social housing leasers) to use energy more efficiently and increase their use of renewable energy sources.

The consultant experts of AGEDEN assist local authorities in defining their project: heating system, needs analysis, economic and technical feasibility and toward take up a project: juridical editing and financing package.

The AGEDEN is particularly sought out by small local authorities which have no internal jurisdiction and often have limited financial resources.


Our technical pole includes 7 specialized engineers who manage between 80 and 100 local authorities’ projects every year.


The AGEDEN is an active member of INFO ENERGIE RHONE ALPES (IERA), a federation of 11 associations covering the whole territory of the Rhône-Alpes region. IERA enable associations to share the skills and the experiences across the entire Rhône-Alpes Region.

On 31 May 2015 the SEAP_Alps project will be finalized, and the partnership looks back to numerous fruitful results and good cooperation. The objective of the project was to promote energy planning at local level, boosting the capacity of project partners in supporting small and medium municipalities in the drafting of Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs).

Signatories of the Covenant of Mayors voluntarily commit to increasing energy efficiency and the use of sustainable energy sources in their municipality. More than 6000 local authorities are part of the European initiative. They do not only use the political signal strength at the European level, but also instruments free of charge to achieve their ambitious climate objectives.

Energy efficiency of public buildings contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions and is one the measures in the preparation of Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAP). In the framework of the project SEAP Alps the measures will be achieved together with local authorities, stakeholders and energy agencies. By 2020 municipalities will provide an enormous contribution to the reduction of CO2.
